ORCHARD
 

A gnarly old Andalusian lemon tree was the inspiration behind these paintings, created with acrylic on canvas. It took me back to earlier inspiration of beautiful fruit hidden amongst the leaves. I was drawn to the ‘jewels’ glowing in the intense light – a fascination of something precious, hidden and waiting to be discovered. The pears on a friend’s tree have joined the orchard theme, with the leaves protecting and framing the fruit.
