& printed Ocean
My Garden Birds and Printed Ocean series of screenprints were both fun and challenging to draw and then print. The Birds are particularly special as they are all regular visitors to my beloved London garden. I strived to capture aspects of their characteristics, whether it's the everyday playfulness of the abundant sparrows as they take a bath, or the distinguished presence of Woody the woodpigeon.
The Ocean series explores shapes, textures and colours of aquatic creatures including plaice, rainbow trout, crabs and lobsters. In some cases I used variable printing techniques, painting directly onto the screens, resulting in subtle differences to each print in the edition.
I produced these short-run editions of hand-pulled silkscreen prints in glorious A2 size and they debuted at the London Affordable Art Fair. The prints are available framed or unframed.
